Liberation day
In celabration of the 5th of may. This was the day that the German forces surrendered in Denmark under the 2. worldwar.
On this day Denmark celabrate the liberation and remember the ones that gave their life for freedom and gives thanks to the allies that helped us.

I like to remeber my grandfather there was part of the resistance doing the war:salute:

This is a quike pice I put together because I sudenly feelt like doing something to mark the day.
My fursona DF in his wolf shape holding two hologram flags form the allied forces and wearing a shirt with the Danish flag

Thanks for remembering the sacrifices of our grandparents on both sides of the Atlantic! They all did so much for us, yet too often we focus on only our own and forget that it was truly a team effort. The Danish people truly worked miracles during their occupation, and in my book they are among the brightest chapters in the tale of WWII.

I hope that in these fractured times we can relearn to work together like we once did, and work past the faults that have split us apart.

You know, with all the nasty press we Americans get all over the world, it's nice to see individuals who remember the past, who understand the enourmous sacrifices that were made so that others could be free of fascist oppression. It just curds my beans that all these European countries are bad-mouthing us after the war we fought to free them.

Well, thanks for remembering.

Allso remember that both UK and DK is helping in both Iraq and Auganistan. The troops is about to pull out of Iraq, I still wonder if that is such a good idea when the country is everything but stabel at the moment.

I still tens to get a little steamed when I hear others here in DK talking bad about the US. Because is allways about something they dont understand or dont take their time to understand.

Thanks for your guys' help. :) I'm going to try to answer the point you mentioned about the troops about to leave Iraq with a highly-charged rant, if that's alright...

~~~~~~~~~
Warning:Opinion on Iraq War! Reader discression advised!
~~~~~~~~~

Well, more at stake in Iraq than simply the stability of that fledgling nation is the fact that if we surrender, or "withdraw," we send a clear message to the terrorists: You win!

The people who want us out of Iraq are ignorant of the brutal realities of extremist Islamic jihad. The terrorists won't stop killing when we leave their turf, they will come to America, and Britain, and every other country they percieve as being an enemy of Islam, and they will kill there. Iraq, amidst sectarian genocide, will become a hotbed for terrorist traing and recruting.

I mean, can you imagine car bombs going off in front of your schools, malls, or hospitals? If we leave Iraq in shambles now, that's exactly what will happen to us. It just makes me angry to see so many people missing the true reason why we are at war with these people: They want to kill us and topple Western society.

Sacrifices must be made in order to ensure peace, liberty, freedom of religion, and security, not just for America or Iraq, but for everyone. People who think the Iraq War body count is high do not know history. In World War II, America alone lost over 405,000 sons fighting against Nazi Germany, Italy, and the Empire of Japan in order to free Europe and East Asia from fascist oppression.

....
I guess what I'm getting at in this rant is that we need to be patient about Iraq. It will take a long time to fight these guys and make Iraq stable. We aren't fighting the likes of Germany, Japan, or even the Viet Cong...these guys are a very different kind of enemy.

The terrorists will never give up, and neither must we (but unfortunately, we already have...).

America and good people will never give up! thou we leave Iraq it's time they stood up for themselves, I don't think the enemy will take them without a fight. and even now as I speak our forces hold up in Afganistan were they lie in wait to enter pakistan and serve justice Against the taliban and Osama Binlodin, no matter what happens they will be put to justice by God himself or the free people of the world! GOD BLESS THE FREE WORLD!

Well said. I keep your words in mind next time I hear someone ranting about the war.

We are not fighting a country this time. Therefore the enemy can strike anywhere. I get mad when I hear people here in DK saying that terror will never come here. How can they know that, thats the danger with terror. It strikes everywhere. There are still treats coming against us for the drawings that a newspaper posted.

I fear that one day one of those young kids that have listen to must to the extreme views is going to do something. It has not been long ago since the danish police stoped a small terror cell here. What their target was is still unknow.

Now Germany is fine. Have been there many times myself. In fact I'm going again in about 3 weeks or so.

But the scars from a war can run deep. There are still many that see Germany as something bad and I know many Germans that are a bit ashame of what happen even if did never had anything to do with it.

It's not really such a big deal to get to Germany when you live in Denmark :b

Anyhow, I hate the pricks who were making the war, but I am not ashamed of anything, cause I haven't to do with any of this stuff. And if anybody would ever make me relate to those wars, I would make fun of that guy :b

Right again, if anyone would have you relate to the wars... that would be wrong. There is no chance you could had anything to with it. Unless you can travel in time or is very old :XD:

Found your link courtesy an ad.

And found this on top of your page.

In a time when the USA and the UK are getting all sorts of nasty flak in the press and in public, it does my heart good to see that we're still appreciated.

Thanks for the picture, D-F. And for the support.

(Oh, and my grandfather served as an Army Engineer in the Pacific in WWII. Always remember.)

It's nice that some people have some patriotism, understanding of history and respect for those who laid down their lives for the good of us all, rather than the lazy cynicism most people exhibit these days.

Great work, very well drawn. Thanks for including us.. :flaguk: in your work too!

A much belated awesomeness, man. :) Though it seems appropriate that I get to see this on Memorial Day weekend here in the States.

It's nice to see some people remember the past; VE-Day hardly went noticed here. *Rolls eyes* Philistines and their short memories...

Anyway, much wootage here, great attention to detail and ideal colors. Very nice.

Cool...your grandpa was in the Resistance?

That's cool...

And by the way...

"VIVA LA AMERICA!"

Sorry, just had to say that....I'm the only kid in my family born here. ANd I know what it's like to have a family member in the resistance.

My grandfather fought for Taiwan when China tried to get it back, instead of it being an independant country, and my dad served in Taiwan's armed forces for a time.

Nice job!
